A shipment of battery-operated radio sets had to be shipped as a direct road delivery from the UK to the MOD in Romania. Since the MOD was involved, we had to organise and provide, weeks in advance, copies of all documents — commercial invoice, forms, vehicle details, driver identification and more.
As per the SOP, the shipment had to be taken first to Germany where the import procedure was completed and the T1 document closed. We then had to issue a NATO 302 for the driver to go on to the final destination, Romania.
Because of the parties involved, the whole process had to be fully coordinated, closely monitored, constantly updated and notified. There was no scope for any mistake. The delivery was completed exactly as required.
